Something like chicken. I've always heard it's not a good idea, but never heard why.

  1. Because it can get you sick. It's not good for the meat. Picks up bacteria which will result in sickness once you eat it.

  2. if you want to refreeze meat it can not come up to room temp. you need to keep it cold (below 42deg.)

i buy meat ,and chicken in large packs thaw it in frig. and repack it in smaller packs and refreeze it.

  3. once something has been frozen once it is imposable to ever freeze it again.  No matter how long it stays in the freezer it will still be thawed, weird ain't it.

  4. Because the thawing allows some bacteria to multiply on the meat.  And if you thaw the meat two times.  Then you can end up with too much bacteria that can make you sick.

But also, the meat itself looses quality when you freeze and thaw it several times.  Because small water crystals form inside the cells of chicken meat during freezing.  And these crystals disrupt and damage the cells.  When you freeze two times.  Then you get twice as much damage.  And this may adversely affect the texture and the taste of the meat.

  5. Sure you can and its just a fresh too!

  6. bacteria develops after it has been thawed for sometime

  7. As you thaw meat bacteria starts growing, if you were to refreeze it you'd be freezing the bacteria with the meat.

  8. Once it is unthawed, it picks up germs and bacteria.  Those stay with the meat even if it is frozen again.
