Why can't you send PSN messages from PC?

can someone please tell me if there is a way to check your psn messages wothout being on your ps3 like a website or something

  1. No sorry.

    The Xbox Live System however allows you to send and recieve text messages via their website. Voice messages have to be heard through the console itself like the PSN.

    So the only way currently is reading them from your PS3.
