While buckets and cheap cars get pulled over as soon as cops see it?

Well I don't know for sure if Bentleys don't get pulled over, but I've seen a cop car behind a Bentley before without pulling him over, and I've never seen a Bentley pulled over.

Also, some cars just don't have side mirrors, do they get pulled over too like people with a busted side mirror? whats the difference?

  1. hmm good question but i think its because they have better or more expensive attornys

  2. The US has a lot of "ex post facto" laws, which means after the fact. I had a 1994 mazda protege that came with no passenger side mirror. I never got pulled over because at the time it was built and sold, that was not a requirement. As far as the license plate thing, people that can drive a Bentley can afford the fine for not having the plate :D

  3. More expensive attorneys

  4. Good question!...I was thinking about that too.  I see Bentley's, Mercedes S600's, and Rolls Royce's with no front plates and also very dark tinted front windows (which is illegal in IL) but they don't get stopped.  I think cops sometimes let those people slide because they think they are some hot shot or people who don't care about the price of the tickets they would receive.  I guess more "cheap" cars do get pulled over more for those things, but it could also be from something else (i.e. speeding, expired tags).  I'm not 100% sure, I think it all depends if the cop's nice or an enforcer of anything and everything.  I have front tints and my friend has no front plate, and so far nothing has happened (knock on wood).  As for the mirrors, if the car doesn't come with them, the cops can't do anything... if it's broken, they can.

  5. The cop is probably too busy checking out the car rather than paying attention to whether or not it has a license plate.
