Why can Humans breathe through the mouth and the nose when dogs and cats and other mammals can't?

  1. thats right, dogs and cats breathe through their gills..

    they dont happen to have noses or mouths, therefore, making them incapable of breathing through them... :/


  2. Dogs can breathe through the mouth and nose.  They pant (breathing trough the mouth) and use their noses to smell.

    I'm not being a smart @ss...panting is a form of heavy breathing, just like you would if you ran around the block. Air goes in and comes out, that's breathing...Sweating is expelling liquid from pores in the skin to naturally cool the body.  

    I don't know where you heard that dogs don't breathe through their noses and mouths, but it's incorrect.
