  1. Because the train knocked them off the track.  I did this when I was younger you place the coin on the tracks and you wait when the train departs you look around.  By showing up the next day anything could have happened to it.

  2. b/c when a train runs them over they fly off into the grass or onto the road or wherever the train tracks are.

  3. are you that stupid????

  4. You are returning expecting to find pennies.  They cease being pennies when flattened by the wheels.  Look for a bright copper ribbon or a wafer like copper object.  This is your penny.

Of course, when playing around the tracks, you are putting yourself in danger, not only from moving equipment, but from the tracks themselves.  It is very greasy and easy to slip and fall.  On secondary tracks and yard tracks, when rail wears on the inside there is often times a thin metal strip that has worn from the rail, and it is razor sharp.  A bad cut is in store for the unwary.

In addition sometimes there are empty "tubes" that have been left lying by maintenance of way personnel.  It can contain a very caustic residue which will blister your skin if it comes in contact with you.

It would probably be better if you saved your pennies and use them as money, the purpose for which they were intended.

  5. I picked them up!  lol

  6. When the trains go over them, they typically 'toss' them aside... and sometimes it requires a real hunt to find them.

You can try putting a small piece of double-sided tape on one side to keep them in place, but remember... you're dealing with several tons of machinery versus a small penny.

  7. Leave down some bucks and tell me the place  , you'll see the same effect.

  8. I picked them up.  Didn't know they were yours.
