Question:

Why can I not use DVD players in my room?

I have had 3 DVD players in my room, they all worked for a while then, they just wouldn't read any more disks. One was brand new and I watched some DVDs on it then it wouldn't read anymore DVDs. Then I put an older one that was rarely used in my room and it played two DVDs then it wouldn't read anymore. Then I put my PlayStation 2 in my room and watched a DVD on it then tried to play another and it wouldn't work. But I have never had any problems with the DVD player in my parents' room or in the family room. But when its in my room it just doesn't work.

No I did not leave it on, No I did not leave the Disk in, No I did not knock it around.

What could be causing the problems only in my room? Is it possible to have some kind of freak magnetic field in my room? What could be breaking the DVD players?

Note: they aren't just not working in my room, once they stop working in my room, they stop working completely no matter where you try it.

  1. Hummmm. It might be the plug in you are using. Try plugging it into another outlet and see if it still happens. Also try using a power surge connection. You may be getting power surges that will knock out any electrical device......
