These speakers are very new, they worked fine for days. But when I came back from vacation I couldn't get them to turn back on. All I hear is static when I have them on loud.

  1. You haven't provided enough information to answer definitively.

A first step would be to check all the connections in the system, i.e. cd player or dvd player to amp.  Then check the input settings.  You may be trying to listen to a source you don't have.

  2. What are the speakers hooked up to?

    A Pc or an amplifier?

If a home stereo system did they get wet when you were away?

do you have a pet that may have clawed a open in a speaker wire? any short at all would cause this, a lose connection from speaker to amp, any open in the electronic circuit .

    1.try hitting the A\B button or mono/stereo

2.check the speaker connection and loOK to see if cords are ok

3.If you can plug the speakers into another device and see if they work

4.Check the connection of the speaker wire behind the unit to see if the speaker is connected to the back of the speaker, (inside the speaker case)

The back of a speaker has 2 connections the speaker wire is split and connected to the to holes or soldered, this is usually the problem, but usually with older speakers.

5.Plug in head phones and listen to see if your amp is working, do you hear anything via the head phones? if so it is the speaker wire connections look in back or if need strip wire a 1/2 inch and re-connect speakers to the two post mounted on the speakers back.

If  you do not hear music via head phones it is the amp, try a CD and the radio and another device to make sure as each signal comes in another way, a CD plays different than a Radio, if no sound still it is the amp, could be a simple fuse or the pot switch needs replaced

If they are self powered Pc speakers no amp is involved, and that is another story,

go to system settings- sound card and make sure speakers are checked not head phones and make sure that the connection sound card 1/8 jack is connected or USB port is in working order.
