Why can I only watch the programme I am recording on Sky Plus?

When we first got Sky Plus we could record one program while watching another or record two while watching one. Now though we must watch the program that we are recording and if we try to change the channel it says no signal is being received. Why is this happening?

DVR boxes typically come in two varieties.  There is a one channel box and also a two channel box.  The two channel box allows you to record on the second channel and watch what you want on the first channel and this sounds like the box you had.

You may have possibly turned off the second channel.  You may also be having an issue with your timers.

Whatever the case, you are still able to watch a previously recorded program and record a new program at the same time.
