When I have a coin on my hand for a while, I feel like i can taste it in my mouth. The same thing happens when I hold a metal pen.

  1. A few possibilities come to mind:

1 synaestesia - like when people see music or hear colors.

2 suggestion - you know how it tastes so your brain brings on the memory.

3 the sweat in your hand brings out the smell of metal and you smell it. They say most of our tasting experience is actually smell.

  2. why are you drooling  when you see a lemon..? I guess the answer is the same

  3. Did you put your hand in your mouth? It is either that or your brain  is linking your senses too closely together!

  4. Have read that if you put a peeled clove of garlic in your sock, under the sole of your foot, in a few minutes people will be able to smell it on your breath.

Never tried it because it would be uncomfortable to stand on a clove of garlic.
