  1. There is no universal blood donor type. Donated blood is routinely classified by type as A, B, AB or O, and as Rh positive or Rh negative. In the past, people with Type O/Rh negative blood were considered universal blood donors. This implied that anyone, regardless of blood type, could receive Type O/Rh negative blood without risking a transfusion reaction.

But scientists now have a much better understanding of the complex issues related to reactions to incompatible blood donor types. Even donors with Type O/Rh negative blood may have antibodies in their blood that cause serious reactions.

  2. It's to do with antigens and antibodies present in your blood.

When certain ones come into contact with each other they agglutinate causing blood clots which can kill you.

Look it up yourself in more detail.

  3. um i learnt this in 9th grade........hopefully i can remeber most of it.

well cuz , unlike the rest of the blood types, type o doesnt have the thing that causes the "stopper" effect in the blood circulation system which, hence triggers HIV. therefore u can donate to every1. since no clogging will happen.

    btw.....why r u tired? lol
