Why can directors allowed to use brand names in movies but not on T.V. shows?

  1. It depends on whether the company is paying for the advertisement.  If not, then they won't show what the product brand is.  Advertising in movies and TV shows is becoming a very popular way for companies to advertise their product since more and more people are skipping commercials with DVRs.


  2. Who said that? TV shows are full of product placements (Dell, HP and Apple computers, soft drinks, etc.).

    You can't miss those big red coke cups in American Idol.
