  1. To protect themselves in some way, to avoid trouble....

  2. what makes you think other animals can't lie?

    i.e.

if an underdog steals food from a dominant wolf, it can eat it and then the dominant is wondering where it is and the underdog pretends nothing happened.

  3. for popularity reasons: people tend to lie about themselves to appear more interesting than they are and therefore having more friends

for safety reasons: child lies to mother about doing his homework so that she  doesnt hit him.

for opportunities reasons: put things in our resume that we really havent done just t nail a job.

    ect ect ect

if you noticed : LAZINESS , is a keyword , has nothing to do with morality.

  4. Humans are just another species that can use deception to the advantage of an individual.

Other examples of deception:  The cow bird lays its egg in the nests of other birds where there are also eggs.  The cow bird grows faster than the genuine offspring and eventually kicks them out of the nest.  The female bird that laid the original eggs does not know the difference and continues to feed a baby bird of a different species.

Camouflage is common in animal species.  It is a form of deception that has strong evolutionary advantages, especially in hunting and hiding.

Humans use lying to their benefit.  Even if they are not explicitly lying, people frequently say things which are not true.

  5. God gave us all free will.  That means some us feel free to lie.  Also when God is in us we have the attributes of God...Truth being one.  When we have Satan in us we have the attributes of a liar in us, thus we lie.

Edit.  The effect of certain drugs on our brain is  physical and man made.  When the drug wears off, the brain remains the way God made it and if we want to lie we can.  It is a moral choice.

One would be lying to oneself if they truly believe God to be stupid.

All this from a God-fearing US Postal Worker.

  6. LOL @ the stupid God/moral answers.

Humans can lie because it is a complex function.

In other words, it is because of our cornical function.

Great example of why sodium pentothal(truth serum) works. It supresses the cornical function and we cannot lie.

    Understand?

  7. It's tied in with self-esteem, as soon as people feel that their self-esteem is threatened, they immediately begin to lie at higher levels.
