  1. ha ha let me let you in on one of my fav quotes:

"money cannot buy happiness, but! It can rent it!" Someone Smart.

    LOL

honestly i would not take it too literally it was prob. made up by someone poor trying to make there family happier.

  2. it is not about money bring happiness or not ,it is how you live your life and how you become satisfied by everything god created for you and to know that all around you there Are things  that might be the source of your happiness but you misuse or even do not know it is present between your hands, any how nobody can tell you about things that bring happiness definitely because man i believe is sad by nature but there are some moments that he is honest with himself and satisfied by God gifts on him and living with his heart full of love for people that is when he find happiness.

  3. dont know. but if u give me all the money in the world i'll be happy. dont need anything else, i'm already old, no family, used to being alone. so right now, it would give me alot of happiness

  4. I was going to go in depth with this answer, but then I read RCM's input and I was like "wow".

  5. Long time ago, there was trade.

    It was magical...

I gave you an item/service in return for an item/service that I desired.

    (off-track on trade)

When civilizations opened up trade with each other, they gave away what they had in excess (which would have been a total waste) in return for something they wanted that could improve their way of life. This was simply basic interactions between civilizations. Along came technologies that changed society. Along came knowledge that changed what we thought to be the work of God(s). Along came cultures that seemed unthinkable.

Coins came first because people thought they are shiny and durable stones; this is the best. Then paper money came because they were easier to carry. Now...credit cards and checks and etc.

They are a substitute for what you would have traded. You worked for this money. In other words, you worked(gave your service) for this money(substitute for goods). So things haven't really changed. It is still trade; item/service in return for item/service.

Now, happiness. If you looked in the dictionary, you will find

    "–noun

the quality or state of being happy."

So...the state of being happy. What is happy then?

"characterized by or indicative of pleasure, contentment, or joy"

So what's pleasure, contentment, or joy?

If to you, pleasure, contentment, or joy is to have a lot of money, then yes, money IS happiness.

If to you, pleasure, contentment, or joy is to be with your family&friends, then no...unless your family&friends are very far away and require a plane ride to see you.

If to you, pleasure, contentment, or joy is to eat until you can eat no more, then you will need to give away item/service(buy) for that food.

Your question "Why can money not buy happiness?" is based on the assumption that Money cannot buy happiness.

And I'm telling you: Money = substitute for item/service. so when you remove the assumption and apply the equation(Money EQUALS(there for it's an equation) substitute for item/service), your question should be: Can item/service trade happiness? If you like giving away things or doing service for others...then yes, it's happiness.

But if you do not like giving away items or doing service for others...then no, it's not happiness.

  6. "Money can't buy happiness, but it'll get you close"

Most humans, if not all, live on their possessions and take what they can get. It seems to be human nature to amass what you can. A car, a house, a boat... etc.

However, they say money can't buy happyness because it can't genuinely purchase things such as friendship and love. Such things are priceless to have

  7. Money buys you stuff and stuff can bring you happiness for some time, but my favourite bit of getting something new is the bit before it arrives, its the suspense before the disappointment of realising that Pokemon Blue is only a 2D character and nothing like a bugs life on playstation.

  8. No money can also buy happiness, but one should know how to utilise money in correct way to get happiness, but i have seen people are more stressed and worried in an effort to double the money that have and multiply the money to get more, in this they will loose the real happiness of life, if a person is contended and learn to utilise the money in proper way, money can also buy happiness,

  9. I guess it depends what brings happiness to your life.

  10. Just because you are human and have feelings!!! Money is alot of things but the way you feel about things is a h**l of a load more important and money cant make your feelings go back to normal if you are upset unless it is money pproblems you are having!

    Thanks thats my opinion :)

  11. I think money would buy my happiness...no I know it would.

  12. There is no shop where u can go and say ill have a boat load of happiness please. so When ya feeling low and could do with a pick me up ya cant go and just buy it like ya would other stuff.

  13. Think of this...if you had an unlimited supply of money then you can buy anything but since you have unlimited money you will eventually get bored because there is nothing more to buy. But there are some things in life that could never be bought. Like family, love, friendship and such. Think of this...What would be a life with unlimited money but no one to share it with??

  14. I think that is being said, After the Federal Reserve created Fiat money and pushed inflation through the roof. So now "money" is nothing but a credit card that is taking your savings and you can't buy anything more cause you payment is too high and the banks are getting rich off the interest which is going to the wealthy shareholders who get to keep it. NOW, REAL money can't buy happiness, BUT it can put a BIG down payment on it.

  15. My thoughts are this:

Money alone may make some people happy.  Money used to purchase things may make others happy.  Money used to do good for others can also make people happy.  In each case, I say money would be used to buy happiness.

Simply having money doesn't mean that you'll be happy, though.  As Biggie Smalls said, "Seems the mo[re] money we come accross, the mo[re] problems we see."
