  1. That - if true - is a bloody disgrace. I`ve just emailed my MP asking why, if true, this is allowed to happen.

    I`m not expecting any reply from him. Where is the link???


  2. Possibly British people can also claim family  allowance if they are in EU country and their kids are in GB? I dont know, just guessing.

  3. I shouldn't think that they can.  If the child is in hospital don't you need to hand the book over?

  5. it's called 'mutuality' - it basically means the same for the EU as it does when someone moves from Somerset to Cheshire - moving does not and should not make them lose their rights & entitlements

    Yes the Poles are doing this in Ireland also. But thank goodness the government here is closing this loophole.

  7. I was shocked to learn that Poles can claim Family Allowance even if their children are not in this country. I don't think this is a widely known fact. I think this is wrong. If we go to live in the EU we have to claim pensions etc. from the UK.
