It's weird, I wear glasses and have pretty bad vision. One day I tried on a pair of goggles with a blue tint to them and I could see clearly underwater. But goggles without any tint, I'm just as blind as I am without glasses on. But I also found out not all blue tinted goggles give me this effect.

  1. The reason you have poor vision is that an image won't focus on your retina. If you narrow the angle of incidence of light coming into your eye enough, you can get a focused image. The more light you get from wider angles - the worse image you will get.

I had the same thing happen to me when Speedo had a style of goggles that people called "bug eye" goggles. They had convex sides and lenses very close to the eye. The convex sides reflected most of the light away, and the flat lenses only let a very narrow angle of incidence in.

The blue tint might help a little since the blue/lavender end of the light spectrum refracts less than the red end of the spectrum.

  2. the water i tinted blue so the blue goggles create a reflection that allows you to see

  3. i don't know, but you should find those goggles and wear them all the time. Maybe they just happened to have the right amount of curvature to refract the light the way your glasses do, it prob had nothing to do with the tinting

  4. its the way the glass is formed, curved just right for you

  5. I'm pretty sure it's the shape of the glass. and some goggles have anti-fog lenses to make the fog less apparent.

These are specially marked to let you know.

  6. That is strange, but it could be because water magnifyes everything you see underwater. I really don't know why the blue tint would affect you in that way, but They do make goggels and masks with a perscription if that helps.
