  1. We could use it...but that would be a rusty mess.

    Iron oxidizes too quickly when exposed to water and air.


  2. Because iron is not aluminum? And iron corrodes (rusts) too easily. Aluminum corrodes too, but its corrosion actually creates a protective barrier to prevent further corrosion.

  3. Because aluminum foil is, guess what, aluminum foil. If we used iron, it would be iron foil. Which would rust quickly.
