Why can you hear a skylark but never see it?

i love the skylarks song and spend ages looking in the direction of where its sound is coming from but i can never spot it!

  1. they sing when they are hovering very high up, and it is a loud song. if you have patience, scan the sky for a little dot, thats all you can see. you might spot one as it comes down, they stop singing and dive rapidly to the ground after the display.


  2. Because of their brown feathers, its most likely that they are blending in with the enviornment, and there for you cant see them. also they have a very loud song, so if you hear it, you might be hearing it from far away
