  1. I wore my contacts for all of my labors and deliveries-Ive had 7. I was never asked to take them out.

  2. Interesting, I wore contacts when I was in labor with my son.  No one said anything to me.  Who wants to see blury the whole time you're in labor, and I'm sure it would even be more annoying wearing glasses.

  3. It is because if something goes wrong and they need to get the baby out asap they don't want to wait on you to take out your contacts. Some doctors (like mine) may let you keep your contacts in while in labor and others may not. My contacts are the kind you can sleep in, so I never take mine out. But my pregnancy is also been very text book. If you talk to you doc about your options they may be willing to work with you.  Good Luck!

  4. as a preventative measure incase you need to go in for an emergency c-section.

you cannot wear contacts for any surgical procedure.

However, this rule is rarely enfored for normal low risk vaginal deliveries. ask your doctor about their policy and the hospital policy.

  5. I wore mine and had an emergency C-section. Nothing happened to my eyes. Call up the specific hospital you're delivering at and ask them about their glasses/contacts policy.

  6. i dont know but id expect it to be incase you need surgery. they made me remove all jewelry and piercings (i have 7 piercings) i ended up an emergency section.

  7. The hospital told me that I wouldn't be able to wear them, but when it came time they never told me to take them out.  After 26 hours of labor, I had a c-section and didn't take them out for that either.  Everything was perfectly fine.

  8. if i remember right.my eye ball were rolling in the back of my head...........LOL ha ha ha ha

and if i had on contacts..........LOL they would of gotten lost

    (funny but true!)

i would of also took them out and used it against my husband! ha ha it was pain i tell you. (eyes remembering the rolls)
