Why is it disqualifying to wear hearing aids in the military, or to get in the military, but not hearing aids? They are both capable of being easily removed, whether voluntarily or accidentally, from the body, and both allow the vision/hearing to be corrected to "normal" standards.
the reason i'm asking is because i've recently learned that joining the Navy Nurse Corps is a privelege, not a right, but it just stinks because many of the people who qualify take it for granted that they have the opportunity to serve their country in the military.
I've been told though, by a recruiter, that the USO offers lots of oportunities to serve my country, as well, although I was kinda hoping to get to use my schooling for a career (nursing) towards serving.
