  1. the Welsh use their funny spelling just so that we English can not understand it.

  2. errr...er... Southern Warshington politicians. OHHHHH I Meant WASHINGTON politicians  (I am smiling because I keep spelling it Plot- a cians) speak no better.

  3. maybe because you need half a pint of flem in your mouth to pronouce them

  4. The same reason the Europeans and the Americans find it very hard to pronounce Asian or African names / places.

    Tongue twisters !!!!

  5. Probably because they do not speak Welsh and the English language does not share the same set of vowels.

I'm not sure that Aussie should refer to the Welsh accent as daft or as an impediment - not only is it rude and racist but reveals a very narrow mind.  I'm not sure all English people would testify to the bilingual shopkeeper problem and anyway what does it matter if a person has the ability to switch languages?

  6. Because they don't usually use those names in their regular day English language and were not brought up say the names and place everyday like a Welsh person might.
