Im trying to capture my video footage from my Cannon Video Camera. The Camera is a few years old and when i try to download an up to date driver the site says that there isnt one. (an update)

the problem is that i cannot capture and someone said it could be my driver. I have lots of speed in my PC so im sure that is not the problem.

Also i a good firewire cable. So any other suggestions would be good.

thanks for reading.

happy Easter to one and all...

  1. just a thought have you tried another firewire device, just to see if it picks it up, or try (GENTLY) putting the dv plug in and out a few times maybe dirty contacts. i assume you are using XP or Vista

If Xp is it with SP2 +

  2. have a look at a pinnacle instant video capture device this transfers your footage to pc requires windows xp sp2 or higher and if you are vista download drivers from www.pinnaclesys.com

  3. Having mentioned firewire cable, I deduced that ur vcam is a miniDV vcam. If so, for video capture, it must be connected to a pc thru firewire IEEE1394 (4/6 pin?) using a video capture or video editing* application.
