Why cant I burn this DVD project?

I am trying to burn a playable DVD on a Mac using iDVD. The files themselves are only 1.8GB, but when the project is all together it says it adds up to 6 and won't let me burn it. Any suggestions?

DVD movie is encoded by MPEG2 standard.

The encoder, resolution, aspect, bit rate, frame rate are fixed.

They lead to the converted files with big size.

Each 4.7GB DVD disc can be burned about 120 minutes movie.

The only way to compress dvd movie is trim time length.
