Why can`t I watch live programmes on my PC?

I have been watching live programmes on my PC from ITV1 for several weeks but suddenly I can`t. I can watch BBCi player but not ITV. Help needed but am not into complicated PC jargon!!!!! I can bring up the ITV page but when I press `watch live` all I get is the same old advert of Emmerdale bingo.
