  1. Santa doesn't live in the south pole because penguins cant fly.

  2. Santa Claus, so called Father Nicholas, helped children get out of prostitution in the northern hemisphere. Nobody knew about the Southern Hemisphere and the South Pole in the 16th century when he existed.

When he died, people believed that his soul travelled all the way to the north pole so he could make more pressies to help people because the north pole is the closest to Europe. In other words, the south pole was unknown in that time period and people believed he travelled to the north pole.

  3. Did you realize that this is the Astronomy and Space section?

And Santa Claus cant live at the South Pole because he doesnt live at all. duh

  4. i heard he's a bit of a loner..and doesnt like scientists

  5. r****d ALERT!

You do realize that this is the astronomy section, don't you?

  6. There are no polar bears for the reindeer to eat, only penguins, and penguins attack reindeer on sight.

  7. the reindeers get cold noses at the south

  8. Heck, thats just nonsense.

Santa has a Luxurious Villa in Miami.

Why would he want to live in place like that instead?

  9. I hate to break it to you but, Santa Claus in not real. He is make-believe.

  10. Because there is an evil version of Santa Clause living at the south pole, he gives presents to the bad little boys and girls, you know things like butcher knives and baseball bats with nails through them.

  11. Santa needs more supplies than the scientists do at the south pole since he's running an industrial toy production facility. UPS is a lot cheaper shipping to the north pole because they can get there much more easily than the south pole. They deliver his materials by submarine, which simply breaks up through the ice, while the south pole requires specially-outfitted cargo aircraft, and is much more remote from civilization. (UPS set up a major relay point in his suppy chain in St. Petersburg)

That, and throw in the fact that Santa is allergic to penguin feathers, it was really a no-brainer to keep his operations based at the north pole.

  12. no, there's nothing stopping him, other than moving the whole army of elves to the south pole..nothing could stop him.

  13. Actually, Santa was also relying on the opinion of scientists for where to place his headquarters.

Take two views of Earth, one from the north pole and one from the south pole and then look at where most of the children live. Most humans and thus children live in the northern hemisphere, far more than in the southern hemisphere. Choosing the South Pole as headquarters for his annual work would mean he has to travel even further and cover more distance as he has to do from the North Pole.

Of course he could live on the South Pole for a short time (Directly at the south pole is BTW, still impossible and we rarely visit the South pole as scientists). But it would mean much more work for him. And there are no reindeer at the South Pole.

  14. Economics. 90% of the children in the world live in the northern hemisphere.

  15. because he's dead

  16. I don't know, maybe because that's what somebody made up.
