Chocolate has theobromine that is harmful to Animals, if you can find chocolate without it you'll have the happiest bird, dog, cat, ferret, rodent,and horse in town.  Theobromine is a stimulant found in the coca plant.

1) African Greys are birds, not dogs. If you don't understand the question, then for the love of god don't answer.

2) Yes, chocolate is toxic. Not just to birds, either. Theobromine is toxic to nearly everything in quantities large enough. Eat enough chocolate, and it'll even kill you. However, birds are especially sensitive to theobromine. As the previous answer stated, small quantities may not even faze them, but it's best just to play it safe and avoid it altogether.
