  1. No one bothers writing a virus for apple or linux.

the amount of people affected by a ms virus is much greater than that of apple/linux - it's all about how much they can destroy with the least amount of effort.

  2. Because apple is more updated in technology and has alot more to stop it and its probably a nightmare to hack into an apple.

  3. Apple Mac OS X can get virus too. But nobody is interested in writing virus for Mac because current Mac OS X is base on Unix, which have a complicate security file system that make it harder for a virus to run.

Another reason is Apple hardware is more expensive and so less popular than other PC. So less users means less interest for virus writer.

However, Windows are created by Microsoft is base on DOS, which lack any security file system. The Windows registry is very convenient

for spywares and viruses to run without user intervention.

  4. To answer a question with a question....

Which operating system is used more world-wide?

    Microsoft.

If a person takes the time to write a virus, they want to negatively impact as many people as possible.

So, why waste time writing a virus for a mac, when most people have microsoft?

That's one reason, also because Microsoft is laden is insecurities and vulnerabilities....it's made by microsoft, they make things for money.. not necessarily things that WORK well too!

Apples on the other hand....make things well and secure.. they need to  to attract a greater market, and because (in my opinion) they rock!

  5. Dude, there are viruses that infect Macs. The reason Microsoft Viruses are more common is because, well, PCs are more common. If nobody uses the computer you are infecting, what's the point?
