  1. A bicycler, by law, must follow the same rules and regulations as one driving a car, and therefore cannot ride on the sidewalk.

  2. I hope your not really sick. But if you are, take 2 asprin and write another rant in the morning.

  3. In most countries it is illegal for adults to ride a bike on a footpath. In (nsw)

australia - you need to be under 12 or supervising another cyclist under the age of 12 to be allowed to ride on an unsigned footpath.

And whilst it might cause motorist to lose a few seconds when passing a cyclist on the road, cycling  too close to the curb is dangerous.

Near the side of the road there are dangers like glass, stones, pot holes, decreased visibility to traffic  or the dreaded car-door zone.

Odd as it may sound, being hit by a opening car-door and being flung into passing traffic, is not very tempting!

Spend one day riding a bike in a city environment, and you

    might just change your viewpoint.

  4. you probably want to ram them with your car don't you?

  5. Are you kidding? It is very dangerous for bicylist to ride on the sidewalk pedestrians are very at risk. Bikes belong on the far right of the road.

  6. read up on traffic rules and regs sweetheart!

    1. we have a right to the road.

    2. it is illegal, not to mention unsafe, for us to be on the sidewalks.

drink a little less caffeine, and learn to appreciate us, 'cuz we aren't going away!

  7. A bicycle is considered a motor vehicle.  You can get a traffic ticket on them... DWI, DUI....  so you must follow the rules of the road.  You cant drive your car on the sidewalk. Get use to us... especially with these gas prices there will be more of us.. tootles

  8. Because of the laws. You asking this is like me asking "Why Can't Cars Drive on the Sidewalk?" And you're not talking about most of us because I ride on the far right side of the road, pretty close to the curb(We drive on the right here).

  9. Hi theactualstephers!

What the h-e-l-l is wrong with those cyclists?  What makes them think they have the right to use the road, even though the law usually requires them to use it?  Why can't they just ride on the sideWALKs where they can jeopardize the safety of pedestrians, children, and themselves?

The real question is why can't more drivers respect the rights of cyclists to use the roads???  Perhaps the presence of cyclists makes them nervous, because their driving skills are lacking.

  10. The sidewalk is for walking. The road is for vehicles with wheels.

  11. because it is ILLEGAL in lots of places and UNSAFE everywhere!!!
