Why cant hypnotist's?

Why cant hypnotist's hypnotise you through a video ?

Who says they can't?

There are hypnotism tapes/CDs that work to hypnotize people, usually used at bedtime.  They also teach self-hypnosis.

Hypnosis puts you in a heightened state of awareness.  It may be stronger in a one-on-one personal session, but there are other means.  That does not take away from the fact that some people are more 'hypnotizable' than others.

One sign of being able to be hypnotized is how far your eyes go back when you're asked to look up with your eyes as far as possible.

1st, you can never hypnotize a non-consenting person.

2nd, hypnosis usually require the relaxation of the client which can only be possible thru comfortable relationship between the hypnotist or hypnotherapist and the person.

3rd, it requires relaxation which often varies from person to person. there are certain techniques that need to be applied depending on the individual's situation.

4th, all of which are possible only thru personal one on one sessions.
