  1. I usually send a letter or email to close a failed friendship. Whether it's read or not isn't the issue; it's just putting my thoughts and feelings in words so I can get over that issue/person and move on. I try to avoid the usual blame and guilt trips, but instead focus on the fact that I'm not in the same place in my life and want something different out of a friendship. "I'm not mad or holding any grudges. We did have some good times and laughs that I will always remember the most. We're just different people with different lives and it's best that we be apart."

  2. I had this happen before. I didn't really get the proper closure from the friendship and couldn't stop thinking about her, and I kept trying to find her and get in contact. You just need better closure than you got.

  3. When a friendship ends, the feelings that you had don't automatically stop. You may always think of this person from time to time when something occurs that reminds you of the relationship you once had. You can't hope for amnesia, it doesn't work that way. Don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal.
