Why cant i install windows service packs?

i bought a new web cam.everything went well.till i tried to use it. was told to download windows service pack 2.but i cant install sp2 or sp3.ive tried all day.no matter what i try.it wont install. i also get an error code. Ox80070005.help.

  1. Windows XP auto update has a glitch in it, which occasionally means that it will download updates and attempt to install them, but without success. It then just keeps nagging at you to do the install!

    I had this after doing a re-install, and found this software, which immediately solved the problem.

  3. sometimes this happens when you have a bootleg version of windows installed, or it might be  that You have to be administrator to regsvr32 something, cant remember

  4. this has to do with permissions, make sure you are on an admin account.

    download direct from them

    search for sp2 or 3
