  1. if they're both Real PC's then you're probably doing something wrong.

If one is a VM, then it's not possible.

  2. technology-

  3. You can. Network is networking regardless of OS. You're doing something wrong.

  4. you can. i managed it somehow, although i found that it was harder in XP, managed to print share and everything. :). it was mainly luck, but just go through the networking parts of them.

  5. Have you set the SSID?on your main computer (the first one that was set up on the router) right click on my computer > properties > network identification > the name under workgroup is the SSID (this should be the same as it is on the router, check by loggin on to your router and looking at the SSID)  Now check that it is the same on the other computer, if the workgroup has a different name you will need to change it to the same as the first

in vista you can do this by clicking 'View Computer Details' and select 'Show More' > Computer Name tab. Here you want to name your PC (if you havnt already, this is what it will show up as on the network) and also change your workgroup name to match the xp machine

  6. how r they connected  by switch or by cross cable ??

make sure u r able to ping from from both the systems

put password on both the systems (i.e. before logging to the system, u need to provide the password, also try removing the firewall and share the resources.)

If u have some spare time then i request u to watch this movie

"AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH" spread this messege to others also. Thanks !

  7. You can network computers together regardless of the operating system. If you cannot, the router's driver might be improperly installed or the router may not be compatible with one operating system. The only way that you could network two computers with different operating systems is to use a router that is compatible with both operating systems.

  8. make sure they are both in the same workgroup and that you have some shared folder
