You will never get over your love for this person. You will always love him/her no matter who comes in your life. Even if had been 48 years you would still feel the same. Maybe he done something that you will never forget. Sometimes there is that one person that stays with you no matter how hard you try to get over them. Just  be happy that you have them in your heart where they will remain forever. If you have to write it out on paper how you feel, make a poem or song or even a story. As long as you remember him he will always be there. Hope you have a good day. Maybe what you need is just a good cry.

you are being a bit clingy i mean there is one when that person may cross your mind from time to time  and you wonder how they are doing but the person is dead and its been like 28 years and you are still holding on well you might need to see someone about that
