Why cant i plug my ipod into my computer?

when i plug my ipod video into my computer the computer screen turns blue and says something about the computer blocking the device i plugged into the computer. then from there i have to restart the computer all over. i tried changing the usb port and the ipod chord but i still get the same message. Does anyone know whats going on? and how can i fix this?

  1. Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This  problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes .   2. Download the latest version of itunes from www.apple.com/itunes then install it and restart your computer (windows only) then with itunes running reset the ipod (menu and centre buttton till screen blanks then connect once it lights up).


  3. You can try this software to backup songs, videos, photos in iPod to PC, copy iPod songs, videos, photos to new ipod, computer or notebook.
