Why cant i program my dish controller with my sylvania tv ?

i tried all the codes none of them seem to work? any suggestions thanks

Not all TV's can be controlled by the remote. If your TV has a built in VCR or DVD player then this is the problem. You can try an auto scan mode if you put all the codes in for your TV. They can add codes when the receiver does its updates. The software version in the remote updates also.

1) turn your TV on with the power button on the TV

                 now with your remote

2) press and hold the TV mode button until all other mode buttons light up, when you let go of the TV mode button it will flash

3) press the star button

4) press the blank power button (below the main power button)

5) press the up arrow key, repeat until the TV turns off

6) stop pressing the arrow key (you have found a new code that works)

7) press the pound (#) button, this stores the code

8) press the blank power button, your TV should come back on if you saved the correct code.

If you have the correct code other buttons like the video input button will work for your TV, the volume will now control the volume on your TV. If it does not then you might have to start again to find a code that works better for your TV. There could be several codes that only do some things. If that happens you can find the best code for your TV.
