  1. Don't watch TV or go on the computer an hour before. Try reading a book or something

  2. theres probly nothing wrong with you, but im not qualified to say that. Its very frustrating to have lack of sleep like this, so maybe try docs first to put your mind at rest.

Could also try reading a book before try to get some kip. with no distractions like tv radio ect.

The odd thing is the hardest, try to accept it.and not to let it bother you.

I hope you find a solution.

  3. The amount of sleep doesn't matter, but the fact that you are waking up exhausted does.

9.30pm maybe to early, try 11:00pm, but for that hour and half do something relaxing. A warm bath with some soothing music.

Do not eat after 7.00pm but have a glass of warm milk.

Read a book, nothing too exciting though.

Just sit listening to music or a play either on the radio or a CD.

Try it for a week, if it works greeeeeat! but else I would agree with a previous writter and take a trip to your GP.

I'm lucky I can go to bed at 4:00am and get up at 8:00am and still have loads of energy. About 4 hours is all I need.

Good luck in finding a solution.

  4. first thing stop thinking that you to wake up 6:30  :)

and that's the hardest step :(

  5. Depression/stress can effect ones sleep, I used to be able to sleep through the night but as I got older and hit my twenties I found that getting off to sleep was much harder especially as I worry a lot and have unresolved things on my mind. Often as i'm trying to get to sleep, my brain goes over all the things that i'm unhappy about and as a result I can't get off to sleep very well, also age can be a factor cos when we get older we can do with less sleep although eight hours is ideal that doesn't apply to everyone.

  6. You could have insomnia, or if your a teenager (or around that age) there is a similar condition that you usually grow out of.

as i am replying at 12:33 am it is pretty obvious i suffer from the same problem.

Try hypnosis or soothing music etc hopefully you'll find something that works for you. =] x

  7. Try a white noise in the background such as a fan it might be to quiet  to sleep. NO TV.

  8. I was like that but..not that long..

maybe you could go to the doctor..you SHOULD really really really go to your doctor

  9. Sounds like you may be getting to focussed on sleeping. If you are not tired, do something else. Read, watch TV, do housework, anything but on no account lie in bed trying to wish yourself asleep - it won't work. Stay up all night if you must - at least you will sleep the next night. Avoid caffiene or cola drinks. Try milk as it has a natural relaxant & excercise if you can.

  10. Your insomnia could be down to a mixture of things.

Feeling stressed? Working too hard? Family/friend worries on your mind? Exam pressure? All of these, or one of these could contribute to the reason you are finding it tough to fall to sleep.

Are you worried about things when you sleep? If many worrying thoughts are floating about in your mind, it will take you forever to sleep, because you're anxious and that emotion is stopping you from being relaxed, and we need to be relaxed before we sleep. My favourite tip is to write down all your problems in a book and close it and promise to deal with what's inside the morning after. Your mind will most probably now be able to relax and you'll be able to sleep better.
