Why cant my laptop connect to the wireless internet.?

Ok its an Hp Entertainment PC and I have Linksys(cisco)(tm) setup and my other laptop a toshiba connects perfectly fine I have called a billion times and they say they cant fix it also the linksys is right next to the laptop and it has a wirless antena, Centrino Duo, windows vista. When it comes to connecting the PC to the internet or wireless I dont understand anything.

Has anyone encountered this problem with this laptop I am talking about and how did you fix it.Onec I connect it with a Internet Cable it works just fine. The Signal strenght is excellent.The key is typed in correctly.What should I do.

  1. Look, if this is a used router you'll have to reset it. Otherwise;

    Start at the box. bring everything down, power wise. shut the computer down, unplug the modem, bring it all down, this includes shutting down any other computers that may be connected to the same network. This order is very important. Make sure everything is off for 90 seconds. Power on your modem. Let the DSL light come on. Power on your router. All lights should be on for both the modem, and router depending on how many ports you have plugged in (i.e. two computers, two ports lit up.) Wait until the computer loads, entirely, before trying the internet.

    If this is a used router call your ISP to reconfigure for your dynamic IP.


  2. check your wireless card or maybe you did not type the wep key in when ya tried 2 connect
