Simple.  The current administration refuses to enforce the employment laws already on the books.  The law provides for a penalty of up to $25k per day per undocumented worker.  When there is a roundup of undocumented workers, the typical file runs around $5 per worker per day, not the full $25k.

A local chicken processing plant employs mostly illegals at minimum wage.  Most Americans wouldn't do that nasty-azz work for less than $15 per hour (which they do pay for temp help after a roundup by Immigration).  The last raid netted nearly 300 illegals, most of whom had worked there for up to a year.  The fine SHOULD have been $7,500,000 per DAY or well over a BILLION dollars for the entire year.  They were stuck with a paltry $25,000 file for the whole lot!  As one of the corporate officers was quoted in the local paper said about the fine, "It's just a minor cost of doing business."

The company officer further went on to say that if they had to hire legal workers for what they were willing to do the work for, chicken prices would rise about 10¢ per pound.  Personally, that sounds like a DEAL to me!  I'd gladly pay 10¢ per pound extra to give 300 folks a good paying job!

The bottom line is that enforcing the law is perceived by the current administration as "anti-business" and this administration is anything BUT that.  The jobs would dry up if the laws were enforced and most of the illegals would be breaking their necks trying to get back home.

Because the Americans who run the country, the elite, need them to cut labor costs. Why do you think they keep coming, and who do you think keeps giving them jobs? The rich commit atrocities by not even allowing their fellow, lower class countrymen as job; instead they hand it too someone else they can treat inhumanely.
