Why cant we keep oil off stock market,?

take it off,use our own oil,stop the high prices,

most of the oil wells in the US are owned by another country

    Oil is not traded, nor every has been traded on the stock market, oil trades in the commodities markets, not only in the United States but world wide markets.

    Most of the oil wells in the United States are not owned by another country.

If you took it off the futures market it would make it even more expensive.  Futures started trading in 1983 and oil has crashed twice since then and will again some day.  The oil in the US is owned by federal and state governments and individuals who receive royalties.  Almost 70 percent of the oil in the US is produced by independent oil companies.  Having said all that, the answer to high oil prices is alternatives to oil.  Not taking it off the market.
