  1. We can, but how are you going to fill up? At the gas station that is supplied/owned by the oil companies.

There are all sorts of things we can do, but big oil will prevent it from happening?

Golden rule - those with the gold, rule

  2. Because in order to create hydrogen fuel you need to use electrolysis to disassociate the hydrogen and oxygen molecules in water, which requires electricity which requires fossil fuels. Now, once you have done that, you do not get 100%, you only get around 60% efficiency out of the process. Unless you use something like solar or wind power to perform the electrolysis process, and increase the efficiency, then it is pretty pointless. I questioned the engineers and designers at Honda when they were promoting their hydrogen fuel cell car several years ago and none of them could give me a good answer.

  3. Oil companies are suppressing this technology.

and not wondering about yourself when inventor's claim water engine technology they are easily forgotten because they where bribed and killed.

  4. if im not mistaken..government and other vehicle manufacturing companies buy ideas and patents from people who came up with ideas(normal joes)to supress new knowledge from getting out to stop what they do.knowledge of cheaper energy for cars could have been started 20 yrs ago...big car companies pay the lobbyists in our government to not do a dang thing.. it has been proven, back around when lee iacocca(cant spell it right) ran dodge.

now at least they are losing their asses alil bit.from all that greed has come some vindication but then again it will be like bending over and grabbing ankles all over again wont it when the new cars come out.

we as a society have just become mindless followers and dont raise a real stink until the pocket hurts...problem was is that there was people complaining but no one wanted to hear them back then.... now i bet they would be heros..to late america...grab them ankles and ohh,by the way....theres no lube to ease the pain of this *** pounding.

had a friend in the energy dept..they have all kinds of ideas for nuclear type batteries the size of a 1.00 coin that could power a house for a 100 yrs....i was amazed when i saw that ....couldnt imagin not being able to procure something for vehicles.....we have smart people in our country...you cant convince me we cant do this.

  5. Not many hydrogen refueling stations around.

  6. Several reasons.

    1) Where to get the hydrogen.

    2) No hydrogen transportation and storate infrastructure.

    3) Fuel cells use platinum and thus are extremely expensive.

See the link below for further details.

  7. not enough political will of countries, leaders are led to believe that oil is irreplacable in the near future, lack of education. With political will, hydrogen filling stations will sprout like mushrooms or moss. With fearless leaders, change will come. When people are educated, we will seek change.

  8. it is very inefficient and very expensive

  9. This is a long way off. The only way to bring gas prices down is to drill for more oil. If you want to help, sign this electronic petition and pass it on to everyone you know. This is the only way we can get Congresses attention as they are tied to the Environmental groups who are preventing oil production in America and driving up prices.

  10. too expensive

  11. They are too expensive and not yet developed enough to be the average consumer's fuel of choice. If you think that hybrids cost a lot more, just imagine what a hydrogen fuel cell would cost. The infrastructure is not there. We would need all new fuel stations that could keep the hydrogen at a cold enough temperature (well below freezing) at high enough pressure. Then we would need an airtight refueling coupling and nozzle for the cars. People are having trouble with gasoline, just imagine how many accidents would occur with hydrogen. Then, assuming you got all those problems worked out, it would be almost impossible to convert the entire country at the same time. So then you might have station or two in a few of the major cities. Then people would have very limited range until the technology spread to the rest of the country. What about making the fuel? We currently have very little capacity for making hydrogen efficiently in large enough capacities to replace even a small portion of gasoline and diesel cars, let alone every single car, truck, or motorcycle in the entire country. There are simply too many challenges to overcome before hydrogen becomes our primary fuel.

  12. Assuming you are in the US, this country has been way too dependent on foreign oil for it's primary fuel. The auto industry really has got us where they want us using their gas-dependent autos. The trillions of dollars that we spend on foreign oil and gas-dependent autos would be jeopardized if we went to a hydrogen system so quickly. Moving to a hydrogen fueled car would cut petroleum use thus cutting oil need and autos that consume petroleum----big loss of money. Plus, i think the majority of consumers here in the US are still willing to pay for the cheapest gas among the 1st world countries (i.e. UK and much of europe pays close to $8/gallon) because honestly, we'd see changes if more people began an outcry about this.

Look at the link below at how Iceland has been making the steady move to hydrogen since years ago and how it has changed the country.

  13. When the mad escapists shoot up their vehicle into space it happens by hydrogen fuel, that leaves a size of hot steam of at least ten footballfield on the ground.

...But them are at a safe remote distance then.

Immagine- hidrogen fueled cars would make urban life a h**l of place, all people would get hard painful rheumatic arthritis, and wintertime even the highways would be covered by ice everywhere.

  14. Bush has nothing to do w/it, whoever said that is a moron. Go ahead and elect Ralph Nader and see how much closer we get to Hydrogen.

Fact is, Oil companies aren't going to just let thier cash cow disapear and Oil companies have run Washington since cars burned oil. We're going to see a very long and drawn out process of getting off oil. You're going to see decades of hybrid cars, then more electric cars, and maybe in 25 years or so we'll be on the path to Hydrogen. That gives the oil companies a quarter century to find another way to make money, which they may or may not do.

  15. because bush is still president
