  1. probably infection reasons!

My gf got a tattoo n wasnt supposed to drink more than 2 drinks for a few days..blood cells get larger or someting!

  2. yeah, alcohol thins your blood and is therefore likely to make your piercing bleed, and usually quite a lot.

    EDIT

Seriously this is the reason, it's the same for tattoo's as well. If you have alcohol in your blood before a piercing or tattoo you are likely to bleed a lot. Its goes the same for a few days after you're pierced, if you accidentally knock it, it will bleed a fair amount, instead of just being able to heal quickly and normally. Only for a couple of days though...say 4-5 max.

  3. If you drink alcohol you can risk getting an infection and it'll irritate your piercing. When I got my lip pierced my piercer suggested if I had to drink, to drink it through a straw. You're supposed to wash your mouth out with alcohol free mouthwash to clean it for the same reason.

  4. actually, you can drink alcohol, but they ask you to reduce the intake of alcohol during the healing period. the reason is simply because when you are impaired, you could damage the piercing by getting it caught on something, or pulled out. you can drink, but drink responsibly.
