Why cant you eat for hours before getting a blood test?

ive never gotten one before but my brother couldnt eat past midnight because the next day he was getting his blood tested..why

SO THAT CAN FINE OUT IS ANY THING WRONG .CANCER. CHOLESTEROL, LIVER IT JUST A LOT OF THING THAT CAN FIND OUT WITH YOUR BLOOD.

AND IF YOU EAT BEFORE YOU BLOOD IS NO GOOD THAT WILL TALL YOU

Hey I got mine tested yesterday!

I don't know either though. I think it has something to do with the sugar in the food that will go to your blood stream. *shrugs*
