Why cant you take cymbalta if you are under 18?

Why can't you take cymbalta if you are under 18? I know someone who is on a high dose of cymbalta and shes 15. Please use understandable terms when explaining.

As with most drugs of this type, during the initial studies, some people reported feelings or increased urges to commit suicide.  Because of that, any drug that makes people have an increased suicide risk, legally now by the FDA has to suggest that it is not recommended for people under the age of 18.  However, if properly monitored, there is ususally no problems giveng these meds to people under 18.


  2. well, your body would not cope up with the effects of cymbalta and can cause your brain to alter a lot of beta waves. This could make you feel high and gives a shortness of breath. Basically long term overdose can be very fatal. Hope this helps^_^
