  1. one of my friends was playing and she collided with another friend. their earrings got caught and tore some of the skin on their ears

also so no one gets poke in the eye

i think you can wear the studs, but i am not sure

  2. beacuse if the ball hits you in the face and your earting might hit your back bone

    i found out today lol

  3. beucase it could damge things [ ie the ball or get caugh in the net]]

simple things like that they only do it to help you

best of luck. my wishes to ya!!!

  4. yea in sports u ant wear any jewlery

  5. i know at my school you cant wear ANY jewelry because they could get caught on the net or on someone else

  6. imagine having super cute earrings in and a ball come flying full speed and hitting the side of your head,,, the earring would puncture your skin, ouch huh its happened b4!

  7. you shouldn't because someone can get their fingers caught in your earring and tear it right out of your ear and cause your ear to tear and bleed.  it's like that in soccer, baseball, gymnastics, and other sports for YOUR own personal safety and all others involved.

  8. you cant wear any earings in volleyball because i used to be on the volleyball game when ever i wore earings they would make me take them off beacuse when your playing if you would of got hit by the ball if i hit your ear the back part of the s***w would hit you and plus its not safe

  9. I think it depends what school you go to but in most cases you cant have any jewelry on for safety reasons. It can get caught in the net, scratch a player, or if you dive and hit your ear it wont be pretty. So even if you are allowed to wear them, it is not a good idea. If you just got your ears pierced and cant take them out, then put tape over them.

  10. I have heard that the main reason you cannot wear any jewelry is because it may distract the other players. In most sports that is a rule. I cant think of anymore rules like that, but theres a pretty good chance there are more. Also, the obvious reason, the saftey of you and the other players. the jewelry can make you get hurt.

    Hope that helps (:

  11. especially in volleyball because they dont want your earring getting caught in the net!

  12. like that with most school sports, if you fall down on the side of your head the earing could poke a little hole in the side of your head, and then the school could get sued for not having a rule for protecting the kids.

  13. Wanna get your ear lobe ripped off?

  14. Well, my friend Taylor that is on my team has to take hers out all the time, so does Tanner.  Well you are just not allowed to wear them period.  This is so if you get hit with the ball right there, it won't like cut you or something I guess.  And other rules like that are that you are not allowed to wear jewelery, or barrets, or hard headbands, they just do it so people stay safe.

  15. beacuse it might get caught in a the net and tear it right out your ear. My coach said someone on her volleyball team had a belly ring and she jumped up to spike the ball and her belly ring got caught in the net and when she came down it took her whole belly ring out tearing some skin with with.

                                         Gross I know

  16. I think maybe because sharp jewelry might pop the ball.

  17. No the only jewelry allowed to be worn in an indoor volleyball game is a wedding ring

  18. Insurance is the main reason.  If you get hurt, the school or the club would be liable.

You would not want to wear earrings if you could see the picture that I use for the referee clinics I teach.  It is a picture of the player's ear after the earring got ripped out.  And what was left of his ear.  The earring did not tear his ear out in a straight line.  It tore his ear in a big triangle.  I have added that slide to the PowerPoint presentation for referees to answer your question.

One of the worst volleyball accidents that I have ever seen was a player that was hit in the ear with the ball and the stud earrings were driven into her head.  While there was no permanent damage to her ears or her head, there was a lot of blood.  And it did take some stitches to close her cut.
