  1. cos he invented the first computer and basically brought up all the concepts and came up with all of the ideas that led to its creation.

  2. The "concept" of computing is the important point here. Actually, neither the Difference Engine or Analytical Engine were completed in his life time. The Science museum in London actually built a difference engine around 150 years after its conception from original plans. It was found to work perfectly and computed results to within 31 digits of accuracy.  But it was hand-cranked and hard work!

Working with Babbage on the Analytical engine was Lord Byrons daughter, Ada Lovelace. Based on the work she did with Babbage she is credited as being the worlds first computer programmer. The computer language ADA is named in her honour.

  3. Charles Babbage considered the father of Computers becoz he invented Diffence Engine and then Analytical Engine, which can store the information on Punched Cards during 1800's ( Year ). Storing of Information on Punched Cards is done by Charles Babbage on those days, this is the reason - why he is so called as "Father of Computers". His sons like Wilkes called Babbage as "Grandfather of Computing".

  4. Only some authors would say that.

Babbage's Difference Engine and Analytical Engine are just the first two non-computer devices in a line of eight or nine progressively more advanced non-computer devices, right up to the ENIAC in 1945. Then in 1946 John von Neumann, the true father of the computer, published a report explaining what was the major drawback of all of these non-computers although some had been very powerful for their time, and how a modern computer should be built instead. The first two computers of the von Neumann type were completed in Britain in 1948 (Manchester SSEM) and 1949 (Cambridge EDSAC).
