Why children should not be allowed to bring handphones to school?

Because if they are not switched off and they ring during a lesson, they can be disruptive to the class and disrespectful to the teacher.

Cells phones at school cause many problems!  They are a distraction, because kids try to text, and take pictures of other kids (if it is also a camera phone). They can then post the pictures on websites and/or send them to other kids. They call each other or text and if the others phone is not turned off it rings in class. Kids have even cheated by sending each other answers to tests.  Phones get stollen, which causes a hugh problem for teachers and administrators.  Kids then have to be called out of class to be questioned and even searched. Needless to say the money the parent has to shell out to have the phone turned off and/or replaced!  If a kid needs a cell phone due to sports or other after school activity then the phone should be kept turned off in a bookbag in the student's locker. Only to be used after school!

Your question.. to many kids makes sense.  Your question to many adults makes no sense at all.

Think of it like this.    How many teachers do you see chatting on the phone... even getting a phone call in the middle of class?   And if you did see that happening,  that particular teacher would not have a job very long for sure because the parents would be jamming the school phone lines with complaints their kids were not learning due to the teacher accepting personal calls.  Am I right??

There is no place for communicating or chatting on the phone in school.    Just think.....  what kind of education would young people get if they were all chatting on the phone while they were suppose to be doing schoolwork.   WOULD YOU want your children going to a school where everyone was talking on the phone whenever they wanted to?    It would be a madhouse.  In fact... it would be so bad... that there would be no reason for people to even come to school, just stay home and chat with the friends.  

There is another reason why phones are banned.   It is because the kiddies tend to want to cheat with texting answers to tests to their other kiddie friends.   I use the word kiddies because these children are so immature.  Having a cell phone does not make a person smart or grown up.  It just shows how alot of kiddies absolutely have no control or sense of the value of their education.  Very Sad!!

So there is the answer.    For 150 years before cell phones were invented,  school and learning went about smoothly without them.  Now all of a sudden,  kids think they are an absolute must!!!

Give me a break!!!

PS:   All the kids that are answering your question here...  GET IT....  phones have no place at school.   Thumbs-up to them.

Because its interrupting others in their studies and disturbing... How would you like it if someone keeps snappin photos of you??? Or talking on the phone to loud? Or u r trying to talk to yr friend but he or she is busy typing messages???

I know it is the schools fault. The school does not want us calling others. Maybe they are disturbed.

BECAUSE IT WILL BE CONFISCATED AND IT DESTRUCTS CLASS DISCUSSIONS AND CHILDREN MIGHT BE ADDICT OF IT AND IT SHOWS NO RESPECT TO THE TEACHER AND AS OF THE PRINCIPAL.
