  1. dolphin can be endenger because of this reason of habitat  , rapped killing ,no food to eat and also they are gather for carnival and also for accidental phenomenon

  2. China's huge economic expansion has resulted in extensive pollution, toxic waste, and industrial chemicals being dumped into the Yangtze River unadulterated and unchecked.

Coupled with this, increased river traffic and overfishing have also contributed to the near extinction of the Baiji, Yangtze River Dolphin.

They are thought to be endangered beyond recovery, and though one was sighted by a fisherman in recent weeks, it is thought that there are not enough of them left to retain a viable population.

It's a terrible shame.  China's wildlife and environment are being compromised for the oldest evil in the world: greed.

  3. Their entire ecosystem was decimated by industrial pollution.  The species has been moved from endangered to extinct.

This beautiful dolphin was once called the "the goddess of the Yangtze." I find it stunning that a culture that once gave such a graceful name to this amazing mammal would allow it to be wiped out in one generation.

It appears that the environmental conditions in China may only worsen, though they have become more proactive in supporting global environmental conferences and initiatives.  Sadly, this maybe a ploy to just bolster support for the 2008 Olympics.

  4. Pollution. Toxic waste is dumped in rivers, killing off the fish that the dolphins feed on.

  5. Alot has to do with the river traffic...the motors of the boats are cutting them up and they are being killed like that....also the over fishing in the river causes their food source to diminish also the polluted water..its really a sad situtation
