  1. Totally agree with you, having played AFL and Soccer I enjoy both games, I enjoy watching Rugby Union, I'm sorry to all those league fans but I really can't stand league, watched it a few times but just couldn't get into it.

Only watch the Super bowl as it's about all I can take of American football, It's to start stop for my liking, It takes what 3 hours to play an 80 minute game.

But your right every person finds something about their sport that they are passionate about.

  2. Good point Rogue, there are different forums for each sport, maybe those that post here (not discussing AFL) do so as they don't get ay other responses in other forums.

The fact is, whichever code you support, that's the code you will say is better. For me it's AFL

  3. You are 100% right Rogue.

They ARE 3 completly different games.

Not everyone is going to like the same thing...if that were the case we would all be watching AFL!!!  lol

  4. Totally agree with you there.

What this tells me, is that the AFL is bigger and better than the other leagues. Non supporters of Aussie rules are noticing that and are simply jealous and can not accept that Aussie rules is #1 football game here in Oz.

  5. 3 different codes....3 different styles

They are all good to their own supporters.

as for the sooks.....you are dead right....they are  DUUUUHHH

  6. I agree with you Rouge they are all different most people cant read thats why there in that catagory

  7. I Totally agree rogue why compare any other code to Footy-we all know soccer sucks and Rugby is AFL's poor cousin,p.s I'm not that intelligent.

  8. Yeah I agree with you completely. The games are all different and are all good in their own right.

  9. Everybody has an opinion and all are like a**holes, they all stink.

I enjoy my gridiron here in America, I love the footy in Oz, both ways of rugby are OK, but I just can't handle soccer. It was fun to play in physical education class, the run and if your kick found the net. But, it is too boring to watch--field too big, no effort to score (kick to kick in the midfield), offside and victory is not sportsmanlike, a tie is more gentlemanly.

My answer just made your point, Rogue. We shouldn't ***** or whine about other games on here.

I don't see many jabs on my (American) wonderful game of gridiron on this site. That is good.

I got two points here, but did I say much here, probably not.

  10. Geez u think alot about this footy stuff you must be passionate:)

  11. I totally AGREE, those who sook about Aussie Rules are simply jealous. The fact that the game is played in EVERY state and territory, at the the WORLDS greatest stadium in Victoria, is enough proof of its popularity   Those who come to sook, do so, because there is simply no interest at sites provided for their codes, that they seem to think are superior!

  12. I watched the world cup and are those guys soft or what. In between the kissing and cuddling other guys, if they got so much as a scratch or someone sneezed on them they needed an ambulance.

NFL is a bit more realistic and much more "Australian" than soccer. A bit of Biff goes a long way in Aus. The only problem with rugby is that there's not a lot of thinking attached to it . A heap of guys get together and stick their heads up each others rear ends, eventually someone gets the ball but runs  flat out straight toward the opposition players who have no hestitation in flinging them onto the ground and seeing how many they pile up on top of the player (a bit like those how many people fit in a phone box competitions). Then they do it all over again... and again... and again... and again...-pretty boring really apart from the Biff.

Then there is Aussie rules. At least the players are tougher than those girlie guys in soccer who run around kissing and hugging each other, and they are also a bit smarter than the rugby guys... they dont go sticking their heads up any dark places expecting to see the light so to speak.

There is only one Australia, only one Aussie mindset, and only one Australian football, they all go hand in hand to make this great country and its people what they are. Leave the European rubbish in Europe and send Rugby back too, I only want the best that the world has to offer.. and that's... AUSSIE RULES.

  13. 100% agreeance from me too Rogue :)))

Maybe it's a bit of jealousy?

I don't compare Aussie Rules to any other game because as far as I am concerned, there isn't any other game that compares!!!!!!!!!

Aussie Rules is Simply the Best!

  14. Well I actually liked both games (League and AFL) and I'm a Brumbies and Cats member.

League lost me when I saw my team penalised for .... wait for it ... pushing in the scrum.  So if we were gonna talk pansyisation ... umm ... that's up there.

But anyone who steps onto a football field, or hockey field or netball/basketball court needs to be tough, mentally and physically if they're gonna do well.

As for comparing codes - interesting if you base it on facts - pretty boring and mindless if you're just going to hurl abuse and sexist c**p.

But, really, the only reason there's the vitriole happening at the moment is there's nothing doing on the League forum.  I suspect that League fans may not be able to come up with intelligent questions in the off season.  Come to think of it the on-season typically comes down to constant - "who's better Lewis or Johns?" questions (except my spelling's a bit too good for that to be realistic)

  15. I know, when we qualified for soccer WC people were asking if it would steal fans from AFL and league but if anything it would increase the sporting culture of australia and encourage people to see more games whatever the code. People are insecure about their own sport if they think another one might intrude on their territory.

h**l maybe sport really is a religion - can you see the similarities here?
