  1. if i remember right, the reason they stopped the SST's was because of the cost of flying and maintance on the plane. I don't think it will ever be brought back. I believe something faster and more stream lined will take its place

  2. gone for good...to much fuel to few passengers

  3. hi, it is not banned. but due to its fuel consumption and few

passenger. It is not widely used

  4. Banned ......... since when? The Concordes were voluntarily  pulled from service because they were over 25 years old and were getting too expensive to keep maintenance up to current standards. Nobody banned or outlawed them.

  5. Concorde wasn't banned. It died because of old age  and it carried too few passengers to pay for itself. It also was limited by the sonic boom it made making it able to fly full speed over the ocean and ate too much fuel while flying subsonic to allow it too fly over land. The plane will not be back unless someone figures out how too fly supersonic while not making a sonic boom. it may also comeback in a new form for the pacific routes if you can only get the costs of fuel and maintenance down.

  6. Its dead. When landing they had a nasty trait: debris could bounce up and blow through the fuel tanks. The result? BOOM. Pretty nasty. All things considered though, I wish they still had them. Of course with rising fuel costs flying anything that burns that much fuel is a problem.

  7. I remember when that happened, apparently there was a big decrease in the number of passengers who actually took a Concorde and complaints about sonic booms they made added to it. I don't think they will come back though, they used up a lot of fuel, ticket prices now for a Concorde would be outrageous.

  8. There was a serious design Flaw in Concorde and this flaw was revealed when an accident took place and thereafter during investigations a serious design flaw came to notice which led to grounding the complete fleet.

  9. wasnt banned. concord was parked where it will stay because it was the biggest financial bath anyone has taken in aviation history. won't be back unless somebody else gets a bad case of stupid like those that put it into  service the first time around. pretty airplane though huh?

  10. After the accident in Paris, people were scared to fly it and also fuel and maintenance costs when up. I think it should be brought back but only time will tell.

  11. Safety questions came up after the concord crashed in France years ago. Ever since, British Airways was the only 1 willing to fly it on a limited bases. But that came to an end however. In today's world, with oil costing 140 a barrel, its very unlikely any airline would be willing to fly it. if before, tickets cost over a 1k for a one way, and that was when oil was probably trading at 90-100 a barrel, now which ever airline takes it would go bankrupt. Unless Southwest flew it because its gas is hedged. So its chances of it coming back in the future are unlikely. Besides if i remember correctly, there are no more operating Concords in existence. They were either donated to museums, or sold for charities  in parts.

  12. It was not banned.

It will not return in the future.
