Question:

Why could the chiropractor fix me and the MD could not? Don't they teach about bones in medical schools?

Ok so my back was killing me. I could not even straighten up. I went to the medical clinic and asked for help. I was in horrible pain. I was all bent over. The MD could not tell me what was wrong but he gave me some pills. The pilss did notheing. A couple of hours later I got even worse. I called a chiropractor. The chiropractor examined me much more than the MD. He then did something to my back and within 5 minutes I could straighten up and was out of pain. I am fine now. I am furious with the MD. He cost 120 dollars. Why could he not do this for me. Why don't medical doctors learn how to do this. I want my money back!. What is worse when I asked the MD about a chiropractor he said to never go to one. Something is very fishy.

  1. Ha ha!  Thanks for the compliments.  This goes on everyday.

Medical Doctors just don't have the education or training to treat spinal conditions, and really can't do anything for you except order tests, tests and more tests and finally send you for surgery when the problem could have easily helped by a 8-12 visits by a good Chiropractor (or even less in your case!)

You've found out the big dirty secret of the Medical industry when it comes to back pain -Medical Doctors can do nothing!

  2. Someone once asked me what the difference was between an MD and a Chiropractor.  After thinking about it awhile and trying to simplify it down to its most essential and put it in a way most people could understand, I came up with this.

All doctors are trained to diagnose their patients and get them the treatment they need, whether they or some other practitioner provides it.  About 90% of the time, a patient comes in with either an upper respiratory tract infection or low back pain.  The MD's are great at treating upper respiratory tract infections because they can prescribe antibiotics.  Chiropractors are great at treating back pain because we receive extensive training on various types of adjusting and other related modalities.  If you have bronchitis, go see an MD (and for God's sake, stay the h**l out of my office, lol).  If your back hurts, come see me.

There is a great deal of overlap but a complete difference in focus, is all.

  3. I'm a chiropractor. I've worked with M.D.s for many years, having referrals back and forth. We know that each specialty is different, and each has there importance. If you have an infection, or need surgery an M.D. is your choice. If you have a musculo-skeletol complaint, the chiropractor would be the better choice. This is why 80% of car accident patients are referred to a chiropractor here in L.A.

  4. Most MDs are taught to push pills by the drug company's that fund the medical schools.

Most MDs mean well they just aren't trained to heal anyone just take a pill for the rest of your life and make the drug companys even richer.

  5. Well because MD's have to know a little bit about a lot of things whereas chiropractors only deal with joints and bones and that's all.  Doctors are not liscensed to do chiropractic work and vice versa.  A lot of people think that chiropractors are a lot of mumbo jumbo, but  I swear by mine when I'm having some pain.  I wouldn't fault your MD for not picking up something more complex and sending you for expensive tests when it sounds like you don't even have insurance (thus the $120 visit).

  6. The type of schooling is what is different between your MD and the chiropractor. You can't force them to go through everything, that's why doctors have specialties.  Just like you wouldn't see a pediatrist to give you a gyno check up....

There are numerous people that will tell you not to see a chiropractor because all it takes is one slip up and you could seriously injure a person.

Always, Always, Always research your doctor because even those who were at the bottom of their class are still a doctor, just as those who were top of their class.
