Question:

Why couldn't I finish 3 miles today?

2 days ago I ran 3 miles without stopping. I kept pushing myself and tried to motivate myself. Today I tried to run 3 miles but after about 2 miles i got tired, I pushed myself as far as i could go but i couldn't finish the 3 miles any suggest why this might of happened?

  1. yea m snyder  is right  i was on the track team and i ran 3 miles nonstop and yea just sometimes have bad days.  I eat pasta before i run it like a hour it gives me energy cuz it has carbs and carbs makes energy


  2. ya know I'm overweight & have never been a good runner (even when I was thin). But three times a week I FORCE myself to run three miles. It exhausts me, but I feel better afterwards. Focus on the word "Force"

  3. If it was the first time your body has run 3 miles in a long time then it's most likely it was still recovering. Most people don't realize how much they tire out their bodies when they first start exercising.

    You also need to make sure you eat plenty of food after a run. This will help your body to recover much quicker and it would be great if you did some stretching too.

  4. You could've been tired. It might have been hotter out. Maybe you like ate a ton before you went. MAYBe your body just wasn't having a good day. Maybe you had more energy 2 days ago. It is hard to tell. Good job running though. it is good for you.

  5. Yeah, if you are just returning to running, sometimes that first run feels good but it's hard to recover from.

    Take it easy and you'll soon be running those 3 miles without a problem.
